Wow, how long have you lived with that beauty under your feet without knowing?
ReplyDeleteSince I can't stand carpet, I would've ripped it up on the first day, probl'y crossing my fingers that something like THAT was underneath LOL!!!
ANyway, I actually am one of the rare people that love the look of painted paneling! I love it painted white and slightly distressed, it's so cottage-like!
Wow, that floor is absolutely gorgeous! I was so happy when I was able to convince my husband to rip up the carpeting and reveal the wood floors. Geez, where have you been, girl? Glad you're back!
ReplyDeleteOh my word!!!! Love the floors.
ReplyDeleteHmmm... Depends on how much you want to get in to and how much time and money you have to put into the walls. I have seen painted paneling that looks awesome. I have seen people try to use putty in the lines to smooth it out. I guess the question is what is behind the paneling?
Wow, that floor looks great. If only what is behind the paneling would be as great. As my DH says, there is paneling up for a reason!! We have an old farmhouse so our two rooms that have it probably hide a great deal of flaws. While I prefer not to have paneling, we have painted the two rooms and they look just fine. You need to be sure to use Kilz or some other stain blocker under the paint or the grain will bleed through. Good luck and I can't wait to see the walls!!

Beautiful floors you lucky girl. I would paint the walls, there are some awesome blogs with painted paneling, one of my faves being The Lettered Cottage! Good luck.
ReplyDeleteWOW, The floor is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI have seen some painted paneling that has turned out fantastic. I cant wait to see what you decide on.

Wow, that is a beautiful floor!!
ReplyDeleteI have actually seen some rooms with painted paneling that are absolutely stunning. But the best part is that it is so much easier than ripping off paneling and starting from scratch. I'd paint first. Then if you don't like it or get sick of it, you can always tear it down.
GREAT HOUSE & WHAT A JOURNEY YOU'LL HAVE, I KNOW, BEEN THERE, DONE THAT :) GIO
ReplyDeleteThat is amazing! I can't believe someone would cover that beauty up!!! I love it!
